The pasta factory "Lucanella" is located in the South of Basilicata in the town of Chiaromonte, the heart of the Pollino National Park.

Three young men with the strong desire to preserve those old, local traditions that run the risk of disappearing , established this artisan company. Thereby , they devoted their passion to produce fresh and dry pasta in special formats, having the same characteristics of the home made ones.

Among these special formats, Rascatiello and Miskiglio emerge.

Rascatiello is obtained by finger pressing a nut shape dough, to obtain a peculiar streaking that characterizes it by shape and beauty.

Miskiglio is the name of an ancient flour, composed of a mixture (from which the name Miskiglio is derived) of fava bean, ceci, barley, oats and wheat.

The origin of this pasta, that takes the same form of the traditional rascatiello, is very old and is typical of the area in which the pasta factory is operating. In ancient times, the poor people of the area used to eat Miskiglio during the festivities of Christmas and Easter only.

The entire production process is hand made, with respect of all the stringent hygienic rules, in order to assure the safety of consumers.?
